New York, North America 2007

Lower Manhattan New York, a view from Ellis Island is a grand display of modern architecture. Early New York was populated by Algonquian-specking natives. The Dutch West India Company established a fur trading post here in 1625 and called the area New Amsterdam. The English in 1664 renamed it New York.
